All of the raps I have written over the years have done me well, at this point. Every word I chose to say out loud and every creative clue hidden underneath the message is verbal coding. Art is meant to be enjoyed at face value and beloved after all the codes are solved. Loud voices often dilute the original appreciation for the art form.
I'll never compromise my art for the sake of a hit single. I promise you, as a fan of my work, that's never going to happen. I care too much about my words and the conversations I want to have for that to ever happen. I'm too analytical of a person to allow such a blasphemous approach.
So when you hear my music, just know I mean everything I say.
Every word. Every vocal inflection.
EVERYTHING.
